- Copy of a commentary in Persian on hundred aphorisms attributed to each of the first four caliphs.
- In the third part (ff. 31b-43b), on the sayings of Uthmān, we find also an additional Turkish commentary in the text (from f. 34b). The margins of the fourth part (ff. 44b-56a), on the sayings of Alī, contain extensive Turkish translations, possibly written by the copyist of the main text.
- Rashīd ad-Dīn Muḥammad al-‘Umarī is known as Rashīd-i Waṭwāṭ (d. 578/1182).
- The copy was completed in the night of Friday 1 Muḥarrem 972 (9 August 1564, actually a Wednesday).
- A commentary in Persian and translations in Turkish. Owner’s inscriptions of Sayyid ‘Abd Allāh ‘Nathrī’ b. ash-Sharīf Ismā‘īl and Ebūlfażl Maḥmūd also known as Ḳara Çelebizāde (d. 1063/1653) are found in f. 1a.
- 21 lines; catchwords; small, irregular ta‘līḳ; rubrics, lines and dots in red. A red wax seal with escutcheon topped by a plumed helmet and unicorn head (for a photo, see Van der Heide, opposite p. 14) and an ex legato plate are found in f. 1a.
- Bound in boards with leather edges and backing; glazed white paper.
