Description:
VGF 8 is a paper codex, its leaves measuring 340 × 245. It contains a watermark similar to Briquet no. 4835. It has 139 + 1* folia, comprised of 18 quires of mostly 4 bifolia. Greek letters have been added as quire signatures by the copyist and, seemingly, by another hand in one section. Written space covers an area of 205 × 135 mm, divided into 30 lines in hard point ruling. The codex was written by Nicolaus Turisanus. Spaces have been left for initials and decorated inscriptions. Some sections include scholia and marginal figures. The codex has a 17th-c. cover made of sheepskin, typical for codices from the library of Melchisédech Thévenot.
