Description:
VGF 19 is a paper codex, its leaves measuring 335 × 230 mm. It contains watermarks similar to Briquet nos. 9592 and 9545, and lettres assemblées (CC or GC?) not found in Briquet. It is constructed of 37 quires of mostly 4 bifolia, plus two folia (ff. 279-280), totalling 298 folia. Many catchwords are visible, along with some quire signatures in Latin letters. The codex may have been written by four copyists: the first was undoubtedly Camillus Venetus, who also worked on cod. Leid. Scal. 39, and another may be Nicolaus Turrisanus. Some sections are missing, and a few scholia were added in the margins by the copyist. The codex contains an index, written by Alexandre Petavius. Decorations were added in pen on f. 17r, and inscriptions and initials were rubricated on ff. 48r-125v and 291r-298r. Inscriptions and initials are rubricated in the final folia. The codex has a 16/17th-c. parchment cover
