Description:
VGF 34 is a paper codex, its leaves measuring 315 × 220 mm. It contains watermarks similar to Briquet nos. 5926-27 and identical to Briquet no. 5963). It is constructed of 18 quires of mostly 4 bifolia, totalling 140 folia. Written space occupies an area of 230/235 × 130/135 mm, spread over 32-33 lines (35 on f. 4v) in hard point ruling. The codex was written by two scribes: one (who also wrote cod. Paris 2435) wrote ff. 1r-52r, 53v, 102r14-137v20, while the other (who also wrote VGF 35), wrote ff. 52v-53r, 54r-102r14, 137v20-140r. One scribe added catchwords to every page, the other to each folio. The codex has a 17th-c. sheepskin cover, seemingly made for Melchisédech Thévenot.
