Description:
VGF 42 is a parchment codex, it leaves measuring 370 × 240 mm. It is constructed of 47 quires of mostly 4 bifolia, totalling 363 folia. Quire signatures, seemingly written by the scribe, remain visible. The right margins of several leaves have been removed. Written space occupies an area of 225/235 × 165/170 mm, with the text appearing in two columns of 33-34 lines in hard point ruling. The codex was written by three scribes. f. 1r is decorated in blue, red, and gold, now partly faded, while particular sections of books are distinguished with gold and blue (or sometimes red) decoration. Inscriptions are rubricated, initials are coloured in red and gold. The codex has a new dark leather binding.
