Description:
VGF 45 is a paper codex, its leaves measuring 305 × 205 mm. It contains watermarks similar to Briquet nos. 12825 and 9668. It is constructed of 66 quires of mostly 4 bifolia, totalling 605 + 1* folia. Quire signatures, possibly by the scribe, are visible at the beginning of quires, while catchwords by the scribe are visible at the end. The text covers an area of 205/210 × 110/115 mm, spread over 23-24 lines in hard point ruling. It was written by Constantinus Palaeocappa. The margins of f. 1r are elegantly decorated with flora, birds, and small animals in a variety of colours. Initials and the beginning of individual sections are decorated in various colours, and inscriptions are rubricated. It retains its original wooden cover.
