Description:
VGF 55 is a paper codex, its leaves measuring 295 × 210 mm (ff. 1-21), 290 × 215 mm (ff. 22-52). It is constructed from 11 quires of various length + 2 appended folia, totalling 52 folia. Quire signatures are visible from f. 25 to f. 43, and another hand appears to have added catchwords. The codex was paginated by a 17th-c. hand. Written space occupies an area of 260 × 140/145 mm, spread over 36-41 lines (ff. 1-21) and 240 × 220 mm × 130/145 mm, over 22-19 lines (ff. 22-52). The codex was written by two scribes, one writing ff. 1r-21v, the other (who also worked on Leid. B.P.G. 36 ff. 2r-102r) writing ff. 22r-52v. The text was corrected by a number of hands, including I. Vossius, it seems. It has a 17th-c. parchment cover.
