Description:
VGF 77 is a silk codex, its leaves measuring 260 × 175 mm. The codex is now divided into three volumes. It has new dark leather cover, with stamped decoration.
Volume 1 (ff. 1r-103r) is constructed of 13 quires of mostly 4 bifolia. Quire signatures are visible.
Volume 2 (ff. 104r-220r) is constructed of 15 quires of mostly 4 bifolia. Quire signatures are visible, and a 17th-c. hand added pagination. Written space occupies an area of around 200/210 × 135/140 mm, over 23-29 lines. A single scribe wrote the majority of the codex.
Volume 3 (ff. 1r-139r) is constructed of 18 quires of mostly 4 bifolia, plus 1 folium added to replace a damaged leaf. The correct position of ff. 129r-139r is unclear, for after ff. 131r and 135r several leaves are missing. Written space covers an area of 215/200 × 135/140 mm, over 24-27 lines. It was written by the same scribe who wrote volumes 1 and 2, except for f. 128r. The codex has been badly damaged, and is scarcely legible in many places.
