Description:
VGO 1 is a silk codex, its leaves measuring 180 × 125 mm. It is constructed of 11 quires of mostly 4 bifolia + 6 folia, totalling 89 folia. A later hand added quire signatures a–m. The text largely covers an are of 150 × 100 mm over 25-28 line, some in hard point ruling. The codex was written by two scribes, except for 68r-69v which appear to have been written by a slightly later hand. There are a handful of rubricated inscriptions and initials, and there are decorations in pen on f. 2r. The codex has a 17th-c. sheepskin cover, made for Melchisédech Thévenot.
