Description:
VGQ 40 is a paper codex, its leaves measuring 212 × 155 mm. It contains watermarks similar to Briquet nos. 9424-9425. It is constructed of 17 quires of mostly 4 bifolia, totalling 4 + 126 folia. Quire signatures and catchwords are visible, and sections were paginated by the copyist. Written space occupies an area of 145 × 80 mm over 20 lines (ff. 1r-7v, 33r-120r), and 150 × 85 mm over 24 lines (ff. 9r-32r). Lines are marked in hard point ruling. The codex was Christophorus Auer and Angelus Vergecius (ff. 9r-32r). Inscriptions and initials are rubricated, and f. 9r contains rubricated decorations. The codex has a 17th-c. parchment cover with leather straps.
