Description:
VGQ 42 is a paper codex, its leaves measuring 212 × 145 mm. It contains watermarks similar to Briquet 3668. It is constructed of 25 quires of mostly 4 bifolia + 4 folia, totalling 201 folia. The original red quire signatures are still visible in places, along with some added later. Written space covers an area of 165 × 110 mm, over 23 lines. The codex was written by a single scribe, who also worked on VGQ 45. A number of other hands worked on ff. 1v-3v, and different hand added a few scholia at the beginning of works. Inscriptions and initials are rubricated. It has a 17th-c. parchment cover.
