Description:
VGQ 63 is a parchment codex, its leaves measuring 205 × 140 mm. It is constructed from 23 quires of mostly 4 bifolia, totalling 176 folia. All quires were probably originally signed, but only few of the quire signatures by a slightly later hand now survive. Text covers an area of 160/165 × 95/100 mm over ca.29 lines in hard point ruling. The codex was written by a single scribe. Marginal decorations on f. 1r are in red, while initials are in yellow. The codex has a new dark leather cover.
Ff. II and III are from a 14th-c. Latin codex. Text covers an area of 155 × 11 mm over 2 columns of 36 lines. Initials and paragraphs are in red and blue. The text is written in littera Bononiensis, the ‘Bolognese script’.
