Description:
VGQ 76 is a parchment codex, its leaves measuring 183 × 140 mm. It is constructed of 21 quires of mostly 4 bifolia, totalling 172 folia. Quire signatures are visible in places, and were probably used throughout the work originally. Several folia have been numbered with Arabic numerals by a later hand. Part of the right-hand side of f. 34r has been removed. Text covers an area of 130/135 × 95/100 mm over 2 columns of 21-22 lines (ff. 3r-40v), and then 130 × 90/100 mm over 24-27 lines from f. 41 (in 4 columns on ff. 50r-57v). Lines are marked in hard point ruling. A single scribe wrote the codex, leaving spaces which were used by various hands in the 12th-13th c. Titles and initials are rubricated in part. The beginning of works is often decorated in red. Titles are written in majuscule. The codex has a 17th-c parchment cover, made for A. Petavius, and with a title added by him.
