Description:
VMI 12 is a paper convolute formed of five fragments, totalling 77 folia. It has a new paper cover.
Part I (ff. 1-24) contains folia of various types and forms. It contains watermarks similar to Briquet nos. 8390-92 and 7628, while its leaves measure between ca.240 × 170 mm and 190 × 160 mm. It is constructed of 3 quires. The first two quires contain quire signatures, and the margins of the first folio have been damaged.
Part II (ff. 25-38) contains watermarks similar to Briquet no. 11939. Its leaves measure ca.235 × 170/175 mm. It is constructed of 2 quires + 1 folio. F. 33 is damaged. Text covers an area of 150 × 95 mm over 17 lines in hard point ruling (ff. 25-35), and 185 × 120 mm over 23 lines (f. 38).
Part III (f. 39 [+2], 40-41 [+2], 42 [+1]) contains watermarks similar to Briquet nos. 8390-92. It leaves measure 230 x170 mm, except for ff. 40-41 which measure ca.242 x175 mm. It is constructed of a single quire + 1 folio. Text covers an area of 155 × 85 mm over 17 lines (f. 39) and 150 × 90/100 mm over 17-18 lines (ff. 40-41).
Part IV (ff. 43-60 [+4]) contains leaves measuring ca.210 × 135 mm. It contains 2 quires 5-6 bifolia. A single scribe wrote f. 44r-v.
Part V (ff. 61-63 [+1] + ff. 64-77 [+2]) contains Pèlerin dans un cercle watermarks, and Briquet no. 11939. Its leaves measure ca.235 × 170/175 mm. It is constructed of a single quire of 3 bifolia. Various small sheets of paper have been inserted into the quire. Titles and initials are rubricated.
