VMI 18 is a convolute of six paper quires. It has a new paper cover.
Part I (ff. 2-25) contains leaves measuring ca.215 × 160 mm. It was written by two scribes: the first ff. 2r-9v, the second ff. 10r-25v.
Part II (ff. 26-29) contains leaves measuring ca.210 × 160 mm. It was written by I. Vossius.
Part III (ff. 30-40) contains leaves measuring ca.215 × 155 mm. It was written by P. Junius.
Part IV (ff. 41-46) contains leaves measuring ca.205 × 160 mm. It was written by P. Junius.
Part V (ff. 47-53 + 1 unnumbered folio) contains leaves measuring ca.215 × 165 mm. It contains watermarks similar to Briquet no. 5133. Text covers an area of 145/150 × 95 mm over 22-23 lines in hard point ruling.
Part VI (ff. 54-63) contains leaves measuring ca.215 × 155 mm. It was written by P. Junius.
