The Herat renaissance was led by three visionaries -- Ali Sher Nawai, Jami, and Bihzad -- during Timurid rule. The volume is an offering to the genius of Bihzad and his school of painting.

Timur and his successors initiated a renaissance which helped creativity during the 15th century in Persia, and also continued the tradition of painting miniatures. Thus, the period 1450-1500 in Heart witnessed intense poetic, artistic, and architectural creativity.
