- Copying of the manuscript was commissioned by Muḥammad Ḥāmid ʿAlī Ḫān Bahādur (1875-1930), Nawab of Rampur (from 1889 to 1930) on the basis of a copy in his library, and the new copy was presented to Sir Edward Denison Ross (1871-1940) on 3 April 1905. Although Ross was aware that the quality of the text did not match the artistic execution of the volume, and that there are many inaccuracies in the spelling of proper names, he sent it to Ignaz Goldziher (1850-1921) who was interested in the content
