Description:
VLF 6 is a 9th-c. parchment codex, its leaves measuring 380 x 280 mm. It comprises 33 quires of 4 bifolia, totalling 264 leaves (528 pages). Quire signatures are in Roman numerals (in different hands) in the middle of the lower margins. Writing space covers 270 x 175/185 mm (40 lines in hard point ruling). The text is written in Minuscula carolina, but has been annotated and corrected by various (later) hands. A 15th-c. (?) hand added booknumbers in the top margins, as well as some green marginalia. Initials and inscriptions are in dark ink. Ff. 6r and 9r contain Tironian notes. The codex has an 18th-c. cardboard binding protected by multi-coloured paper and a parchment spine.
