Description:
VLF 20 is a parchment codex from the second half of the 15th c., its leaves measuring 335 x 230 mm. It comprises 21 quires of 5 bifolia, totalling 209 leaves (418 pages). Catchwords appear in the lower margins. Quire signatures are still visible on the first pages of some quires. Written space covers 220 x 140 mm (36 lines ruled in dark ink). The text is written in Littera humanistica textualis. Each new book starts off with major, golden initials, decorated with leaves and flowers in different colours. Inscriptions and subscriptions are in red capitals. Some lemmata have been written in red in the margin (up to f. 86r). The codex has a 19th-c. cardboard cover with dark leather protection.
