Description:
VLF 23 is a parchment codex from the second half of the 15th c., its leaves measuring c. 320/330 x 235 mm. It is constructed of 12 irregularly composed quires and several added folia, totalling 80 leaves (160 pages). Quire signatures appear in the lower margins. A 17th-c. hand added foliation in the right bottom corner. Written space covers c. 200 x 125/130 mm of mostly 28 lines in hard point ruling. The text is written in Littera humanistica formata rotunda. At the start of each part are initials in golden or several other colours. The text is decorated with several large illustrations, but these are mostly faded due to water damage. The codex no longer has its old binding. It is held together with cardboard covers.
