Description:
VLF 28 is a parchment codex of the first half of the 15th c., its leaves measuring 330 x 235 mm. It is constructed of 16 quires of mostly 4 bifolia. The scribe added catchwords in the lower margins. Quire signatures have been cut off during the binding process. Written space covers 210/215 x 150 mm, divided into 2 columns of 34 lines ruled in dark ink. The text is written in Littera textualis. Each book starts off with major initials in several colours, decorated with leafy branches. The beginning of a new chapters has minor initials, similarly decorated. The beginning of a new paragraph is denoted by small letters in golden, blue and red. Book numbers appear in golden and blue at the top of the leaves. Inscriptions are rubricated. A cursive contemporary hand added summaries in the right bottom corner. The codex has a 19th-c. cardboard cover with dark leather protection.
