Description:
VLF 36 is a parchment codex from the 9th or 10th c., its leaves measuring 320 x 215 mm. It is constructed of 20 quires of mostly 4 bifolia, totalling 187 leaves (374 pages). Quire signatures are in the lower margins, some of them still visible. A 16th-c. hand added new quire signatures opposite the old ones. Every leaf contains catchwords. The Priscian works contain glosses added by both the scribes and other hands (from the same period or a little later). Written space covers 245 x 165 mm, divided into 2 columns of 42 lines (partly ruled in hard point, partly in dark ink). At least 7 different scribes worked on the text, which is written in Minuscula carolina. The codex has a 16th-c. cardboard binding with parchment protection and 2 leather straps.
