Description:
VLF 37 is a paper codex from the end of the 16th or beginning of the 17th c. Its leaves measure 322 x 210 mm; the predominant watermark is an eagle, except on ff. 156-159 (a flower or a family crest). The codex is constructed of 12 quires of irregular composition plus several added folia, totalling 164 leaves (328 pages). The lower margins on ff. 41, 56, 59 and 60 are cut off. As many as 8 different scribes worked on this manuscript, writing in cursive script. Several of these scribes also made many corrections and variant readings, one of them being Peter Schrijver. The codex has an 18th-c. cardboard binding protected by multi-coloured paper and a parchment spine.
