Description:
VLF 46 is a 13th-c. parchment codex, its leaves measuring 310 x 215 mm. It is constructed of 20 quires of 4 or 5 bifolia, totalling 167 leaves (334 pages). Quire signatures are in Roman numerals in the lower margins. Written space covers 235 x 150 mm (31 lines ruled in dark ink). The text seems to be written by 2 scribes in Littera gothica textualis. Major initials in red and blue are at the start of the prologue and of several books. Each chapter starts off with minor initials in either red or blue. Capital letters within the text are rubricated, as are inscriptions. Fol. 3 was inserted and used to belong to a liturgical book. The codex has an 18th-c. cardboard binding protected by multi-coloured paper and a parchment spine.
