Description:
VLF 50 is a parchment codex from the second half of the 14th c., its leaves measuring 303 x 220 mm. It is constructed of 11 quires of 6 bifolia, totalling 124 leaves (248 pages). Some catchwords are still visible (added by the scribe). Fol. 1 and 124 show water damage. Written space covers 225/220 x 140/130 mm, divided into 2 columns of 39-40 lines. The text is written in Littera gothica textualis. Various hands added comments in the margins. Initials are in red or blue. Inscriptions are rubricated. The codex has a 17th-c. cardboard binding, protected by sheepskin, typical for codices from the library of Melchisédech Thévenot.
