Description:
VLF 76 is a paper codex from the first half of the 15th c., its leaves measuring 300 x 210 mm. Water marks are similar to Briquet nos 7949, 3963, 9122. It is constructed of 17 quires of mostly 6 bifolia, totalling 178 leaves (356 pages). Catchwords are still visible up to f. 124. A combination of quire signatures and foliation was added by the scribe or by a contemporaneous hand. Written space covers 200/235 x 115/155 mm (37-60 lines). The text was written by at least 5 scribes in Italian Littera hybrida. Inscriptions are rubricated, as are initials to each book and chapter. The codex has a 19th-c. cardboard cover with dark leather protection.
