Description:
VLF 79 is a parchment codex from the second half of the 9th c., its leaves measuring 300 x 220 mm. It is constructed of 6 quires of mostly 4 bifolia, totalling 46 leaves (92 pages). Quire signatures are still visible. Fol. 1 is partly damaged, while several leaves show water damage. Only a small fragment of f. 46 remains, also due to damage. Written space varies significantly. The text was written by several scribes in Minuscula carolina. Inscriptions are rubricated, initials are in dark ink. The codex has an 18th-c. cardboard binding protected by multi-coloured paper and a parchment spine.
