Description:
VLF 80 is a 15th-c. parchment codex, its leaves measuring 295 x 218 mm. It is constructed of 14 quires of mostly 6 bifolia, totalling 170 leaves (340 pages). Only a few quire signatures are remnant. Catchwords are still visible. Written space covers 200 x 140 mm (mostly 34 lines ruled in dark ink). The text is written in Littera gothica cursiva gallica. Fol. 1 contains a lavishly decorated major initial. All books and chapters start off with coloured, minor initials. Paragraph signs are in red and blue. Inscriptions are rubricated. The codex has a 17th-c. cardboard binding, protected by sheepskin, typical for codices from the library of Melchisédech Thévenot.
