Description:
VLF 99 is a 15th-c. parchment codex. Its leaves measure 283 x 210 mm. The codex is constructed of 25 quires of 4 bifolia, totalling 200 leaves (400 pages). Catchwords are still visible, as are quire signatures for the first 4 quires (added by a hand from the second half of the 15th c.). Written space covers 200/205 x 105/110 mm (30 lines ruled in dark ink). The text was written by 2 scribes, one writing in Littera hybrida (f. 1r-169v), one in Littera gothica cursiva (f. 170r-199v). Major initials to each tragedy, as well as minor initials at the start of each part, are rubricated and decorated. Inscriptions and initials pertaining to each verse are in red or yellow. The codex has a 19th-c. cardboard cover with dark leather protection.
