Description:
VLF 108 is a parchment codex from the 11th or 12th c., its leaves measuring 280 x 185 mm. It is constructed of 12 quires of 4 bifolia, plus 2 additional folios, totalling 98 leaves (196 pages). A 15th-c. hand added foliation in Arabic numerals. Written space covers 205/210 x 125 mm (40 lines in hard point ruling). The text was written by at least 8 different scribes in Littera carolina-gothica. Each new work and book starts off with decorated major initials in red, while the beginning of each chapter receives minor initials, also painted red. Inscriptions are also rubricated. The codex has a 19th-c. cardboard binding, protected by multi-coloured paper. The spine and corners are in parchment.
