Description:
VLF 111 is a parchment codex from the first half of the 9th c., its leaves measuring mostly 280 x 235 mm. It is constructed of 5 quires of mostly 4 bifolia, totalling 40 leaves. The first 4 quires that used to be part of this codex, are now in Paris, BNF Ms. Lat. 8093 (ff. 1-32). Quire signatures are still visible, while a 16th-c. hand added foliation (marginal foliation was later added by another hand). Written space covers 230 x 185 mm, divided into 2 columns of mostly 32 lines in hard point ruling. The text was written by a single scribe using Littera minuscula Visigothica. The text shows many corrections by several hands (from the time of the scribe up to the 16th c.). Inscriptions are rubricated. The codex has a 19th-c. cardboard binding with multi-coloured paper protection.
