Description:
VLO 3 is a paper convolute containing 5 manuscripts. Its 174 leaves measure 220 x 150 mm. The codex has a 19th-c. cardboard binding with multi-coloured paper protection.
Part 1 (ff. 1-72) dates from 1470. Its watermarks are similar to Briquet nos 2637-46, 15911. Written space covers 140/145 x 80 mm (30-32 lines). The text is written in Littera cursiva. Major initials are rubricated, as are the first letters of each verse and all lemmata. The first inscription is also in red.
Part 2 (ff. 73-107) dates from 1472. Its watermarks are similar to Briquet no. 7693. Written space covers 150 x 85 mm (32 lines). The text is written in Littera cursiva. Most inscriptions and initials were not filled out.
Part 3 (ff. 108-131) dates from the second half of the 15th c. Its watermarks are similar to Briquet no. 7693. Written space covers 145 x 80 mm (27 lines). The text was written by a certain Dominicus (mentioned on f. 131r) who wrote in Littera cursiva. Inscriptions, subscriptions, and initials are rubricated.
Part 4 (ff. 132-142) dates from the second half of the 15th c. Its watermarks are similar to Briquet no. 7693. Written space covers 145 x 95 mm (31-34 lines). Part of f. 142 is damaged. The text is written in Littera hybrida currens.
Part 5 (ff. 143-174) dates from 1456. Its watermarks are similar to Briquet no. 5133. Written space covers 155 x 95 mm (20-23 lines). The text is written by a single scribe who wrote in Littera gothica textualis italiana et hybrida currens. There is a decorated major initial in red at the start of the text; paragraph signs within the text are also rubricated, as are one subscription and a few inscriptions.
