Description:
VLO 4 is a paper codex from 1457, its 208 leaves measuring 228 x 145 mm. Its watermarks are similar to Briquet nos 2447 and 14089. Written space covers 140/145 x 80 mm (27 lines in hard point ruling). The text was written in Litteris humanisticis cursivis. Fol. 207r was written by Marcantonio Crispoldi in Littera humanistica textualis. There is a major multi-coloured initial on f. 1r, which contains the coat of arms of Marcus Antonius Cirspoldus. At the start of each book is a major decorated initial. Inscriptions are rubricated. Marginal comments and corrections were added by several hands from the second half of the 15th c. or slightly later. The codex has a parchment binding from the second half of the 16th c., possibly made for Paul Pétau.
