Description:
VLO 7 is an 11th-c. parchment codex, its 96 leaves measuring 212 x 140 mm. Written space covers 150/160 x 85 mm (36-37 lines in hard point ruling). The text was written by a single scribe in Minuscula carolina. Each work starts with rubricated inscriptions and major initials, although these have not been filled out from f. 65 onwards. In the margins of ff. 1r-17v the scribe or another contemporaneous hand added excerpts from Saint Augustine's Confessions and his De Civitate Dei. The codex has a 19th-c. cardboard binding with multi-coloured paper protection. Its corners and spine are in parchment. This binding replaced the old binding from Thévenot's time.
