Description:
VLO 97 is a parchment convolute, its 79 leaves measuring c. 130 x 105 mm. The codex has a 16th-c. cardboard binding with parchment protection. Its two leather straps are now lost. The binding may have been made for Paul Pétau.
Part 1 (1-62) dates from the end of the 9th c. Written space covers 120 x 90 mm (21 lines in hard point ruling). The text was written by 6 scribes in Minuscula carolina. Initials at the start of a verse are in red or green. Inscriptions and subscriptions are in the same colours.
Part 2 (63-70) dates from the first half of the 13th c. Written space covers 105 x 80/95 mm (20-27 lines in dark ink). The text was written by a single scribe in Littera prae-gothica. There is no decoration.
Part 3 (71-90) dates from c. 1200. Written space covers 100 x 80 mm (20-23 lines in dark ink). The text was written by a single scribe in Littera prae-gothica. There is no decoration.
