Description:
VLQ 2 is a parchment and paper convolute containing 60 leaves and one extra inserted leaf between ff. 2 and 3. The codex has an 18th-c. cardboard binding with red paper protection and a dark leather spine.
Part 1 (1-2) dates from the 13th c., its two leaves measuring 272 x 200 mm. Written space covers 185 x 145 mm, divided into 2 columns (48 lines in dark ink). The text was written in Littera textualis rotunda italiana. Minor initials at the start of chapters are in red or blue. Paragraph signes within the text are in the same colours. Inscriptions are rubricated.
Part 2 (2*) dates from the second half of the 12th c. Its single leaf measures 115 x 183 m (9 lines). The text is written in Littera diplomatica gallica.
Part 3 (3-30) dates from the 10/11th c., its leaves measuring 275 x 225 mm. Written space covers 205 x 150 mm, divided into 2 columns (30-36 lines in hard point ruling). The text was written by 2 scribes in Minuscula carolina.
Part 4 (31-33) dates from the first half of the 9th c., its leaves measuring 235 x 200 mm. Written space covers 140/145 x 155/160 mm (25 lines in hard point ruling). The text was written by a single scribe in Minuscula carolina.
