Description:
VLQ 4 is a parchment codex from the 14th/15th c., its 322 leaves measuring 273 x 195 mm. Written space covers 160/175 x 96/100 mm (24-25 lines) in dark ink. The text was written by 3 scribes in Littera textualis italiana. A few major initials are decorated lavishly in red and blue. Most are in brown ink and less richly decorated. Minor initials at the start of a new epistola are in red or blue. Inscriptions and a few initials have not been filled out. The codex has a 17th-c. cardboard binding, protected by sheepskin, typical for codices from the library of Melchisédech Thévenot.
