Description:
VLQ 17 is a parchment convolute, its 81 leaves measuring 267 x 200/210 mm. The codex has a 17th-c. cardboard binding with parchment protection. Two leather straps, previously part of the binding, are lost.
Part 1 (1-2) dates from the 10th c. Written space covers 190 x 160 mm (32 lines in hard point ruling). The text was written by 3 scribes in Minuscula carolina.
Part 2 (3-72) dates from the 9th c. Written space covers 185/190 x 165/175 (33 lines in hard point ruling). The text was written in Minuscula carolina. Initials are in dark ink, while inscriptions are rubricated.
Part 3 (73-80) dates from the end of the 10th c. Written space covers 215 x 150/155 mm (39 lines in hard point ruling). The text is written in Minuscula carolina. Initials and inscriptions are rubricated.
Part 4 (81r-v) dates partly from the 12th c., partly from the 10th c. Fol. 81r is written by 5 different scribes. Written space on f. 81v covers 215 x 170 mm (31 lines in hard point ruling); its text is written in Minuscula carolina.
