Description:
VLQ 33 is a parchment convolute which contains 174 leaves. The codex has an 18th-c. cardboard binding on which the emblem of the Leiden University is stamped. The spine is protected by dark leather.
Part 1 (1-58) dates from the beginning of the 9th c., its leaves measuring c. 220/250 x 140/180 mm. Written space covers 170/175 x 115 mm (29 lines in hard point ruling). The text was mostly written by a single scribe in Minuscula carolina.
Part 2 (59-61) dates from the 10th c., its leaves measuring 245 x 165 mm. Written space covers 150/175 x 105/120 mm (17-19 lines in hard point ruling). The text was written by 3 scribes in Minuscula carolina.
Part 3 (62-174) dates from the 10th c., its leaves measuring 260/265 x 185 mm. Written space covers c. 190/210 x 135/145 mm. The text was written by several scribes in Minuscula carolina.
