Description:
VLQ 40 is a 12th-c. parchment codex, its 56 leaves measuring 265 x 170 mm. Written space co vers 200 x 105/110 mm (31-33 lines in dark ink). The text was written by 2 scribes in Minuscula carolina. Some initials within the text are rubricated, others are in dark ink. The scribe added depictions of herbs and animals in dark ink throughout the codex. The codex has an 18th-c. cardboard binding with multi-coloured paper protection; its spine is in parchment.
