Description:
VLQ 55 is a parchment convolute (except for ff. 29-29a: paper), its 60 leaves measuring 240 x 175 mm. The codex has a 15th-c. parchment binding.
Part 1 (1-28) dates from the second half of the 11th c. Written space covers 175 x 125 mm (26 lines in hard point ruling). The text was mainly written by a single scribe in Minuscula sub-carolina. Initials and inscriptions are rubricated. Some of the latter have almost completely faded though.
Part 2 (30-59) dates from the 9th c. Written space covers 190/195 x 130/135 mm (30 lines in hard point ruling). The text is written in Minuscula carolina.
