Full Description:
Extracts of a letter from Howe to Massey, enclosing instructions to the officer commanding at Halifax. Relates to the defence of that place with the fortifying of Citadel Hill, intelligence of rebel movements on the Bay of Fundy, and the placing of troops in Newfoundland under the command of Governor Legge. Also concerns the request to supply the Mickmack and The St John's River [Maliseet] Indians with small quantities of powder and lead for their winter hunting, in exchange for their assistance.
