Full Description:
Lorentz to Mackenzie. from Staten Island. Lorentz repeats the statement he made to Osborne on the 19 August relating to pay for the Hessian troops. The troops are unhappy about being paid in Spanish dollars because of the losses they incur when compared to payment made in guineas. The Paymaster-General, Mr Rigby, has assured him that money will be forthcoming for the receipts he has submitted but at this time nothing has ben received. He needs money to pay his troops and asks Mackenzie how he will receive what is owing. Due to his own indisposition he has sent his son to obtain a response.
