Full Description:
Howe to Massey. Concernig the 'Bat and Forage' money previously sent to Massey's troops being intended as an extra gratuity. Mentions that if it had been extended to Halifax it would have been expected by those in St Augustine and Pensacola, where Howe cannot grant the request of Major Souter, and Captains McDonald and Ramsey. Requests that returns of troops be sent to him, including information about their stations and including General Legge's Corps equally with others. Also mentioned is that the men of this corps should be subsisted by the Treasury in the same manner as McLean's and Goreham's. Finally mentions that Howe is obliged to Massey for your care of Mr Bunyan and that if he proves useful, Howe has no objection to his continuing in in any post where he may be serviceable.
