Lorentz to Mackenzie. New York. Concerning the reply to Mackenzie's correspondance. Regarding the pay of the Hessians. They are paid to the end of the month. £6,767 was sent 12 January by the 'Greyhound' frigate. States that not a farthing should be paid by the general on account of this month or before, but if any is required next month £300 to £340 should be paid to each regiment, for which he [the general] will take receipts.
