Full Description:
Lord Amherst to Secretary at War Lord Barrington. Acknowledging the letter of 30 June 30th, enclosing a letter of 27 June . States that though the King had allowed him to make arrangements for commissions throughout the whole of the Royal American Regiment and reccommending the officers to the 3rd and 4th Battalions, he had no thoughts of doing so for vacancies under Howe's command. Gives his reasnos for recommending Captain Van Braam and proposes to give the names of the officers in succession.
