Full Description:
Howe to Lieutenant-Colonel Augustine Prevost. Acknowledges letters dated 14 and 22 June. Gives thanks to Prevost for the repulse of the rebels suffered. That he will leave to the Superintendent's experience the entire management of the Indians. Sends copies of his letter to Stuart, Chester and Stiell. Regards a proposal to have a Corps of Rangers mounted that it is a measure of which he should be the best judge, but that it should be of only 50 men, 'exclusive of officers'. Concerns that Captain McIntosh may quit the service and Captain Browne return to Europe. Bat[talion] and Forage money for 200 days may be given to certain officers. Also gives notice of provisions, recruits etc., sent to the Floridas.
