General Sir William Howe to Lord George Germain. Letter from Philadelphia regarding the raising of 100 men by Mister Calbeck, President of the Council of St John's Island, for the defence of Charlottetown, as being insufficient against the disaffected French inhabitants and pirates that might be tempted to an invasion, just to secure the guns, and greater security was required.
