Full Description:
General Sir William Howe to Jonathan Mallet. A letter from Philadelphia acknowledging receipt of a letter dated 29 December, with an enclosure and pass on the Hessian accounts in a form similar to the British. Under the Treaty he was to supply medicines to the General Hospital with any plan for their payment as seen fit, but the payment should be made by allowance (as has been paid according to inspection) as the British are paid by the same method, and hospital expenses prior to August 1776 are not to be paid by them.
