Full Description:
Lord George Germain to General Sir Henry Clinton. A letter from Whitehall saying that with General Sir William Howe resigning his post as Commander in North America, he would now relieve him and take up the role as Commander of the Army, at His Majesty's Pleasure, at his present rank of General. He would receive instructions and documents from Sir William but that Major Drummond would be coming from England with his orders from the King in due course.
